Southern Cross evaporators have been manufactured for over 20 years and have enjoyed an unsurpassed reputation in the refrigeration industry. During this period, through continual consultation with leaders in the produce industry and considerable research and development, our engineering department has designed a range of air coolers specifically designed for storage of high-value perishable primary produce.
The problems with dehydration of fresh produce particularly in the case of longer-term storage, have been well documented, Unfortunately, the reality is that these problems are rarely considered as a significant factor in modern plant design. The rationale behind this is quite simple. Refrigeration plants are generally designed on the basis of engineering principles, with the aim of providing adequate cooling capacity at minimal cost.
